A request from columnist Bettina Arndt
I've just seen this on a mailing list I'm subscribed to, and I think you'll be interested in this. If you can help out, do so, She's prepared to give our issues a hearing in public, so click "read more/post comments" to find what she needs. The HREOC has just knocked back an application for exclusion from the
anti-discrimination legislation by the NSW Catholic Education people - who wanted to offer scholarships to attract more males into teaching.
I am looking for other examples where males have been refused exclusions i.e. where they have been seeking pro-male affirmative action but have been refused.
Also am looking for examples where permission has been given to allow
positive discrimination in favour of women, particuarly in
education/higher ed.
Thanks, Tina.
